In the worlds of invention, famous female inventors have mostly contributed enormously throughout the history. Life saving medical inventions and automatic dishwasher are just some of the inventions of the famous female inventors, and we cannot deny that we use these things and It affects our daily lifestyle.

Josephine Garis Cochran is a famous female inventor and has truly contributed a lot especially in our homes, Josephine has been known for inventing the first ever practical mechanical dishwasher last 1886. Mrs. Cochran is also known to be very generous and thoughtful to other people because aside from her invention, she also help different parties. Although she had servants to do the dishes, she was unhappy about how long it took and how many dishes the servants chipped. “If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I’ll do it myself!” is a famous line from Mrs. Cochran after experiencing the slow flow of dishwashing.

She went about building one herself. Her friends were quite impressed and had her make machines for them as well. Soon word spread, and she was getting orders for the machines from hotels and restaurants. She got a patent on her design and went into production. She won the highest award at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Because her friends have been spreading words about how brilliant her invention is, a lot of hotels and restaurants have been ordering from her causing her to become a talked about inventor in Chicago. She got her design licensed before she was able to produce more machines. At the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, she showcased her invention and received the highest award.

The next inventor which will be discussed is Ellen Ochoa which is known not only as a female inventor but also an astronaut.

Ellen Ochoa was a resident at Los Angeles since she was born there last May 10, 1958, she studied at San Diego State University and received her degree in Bachelor in Science in Physics, however, she took her master and doctorate degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University.

Ellen Ochoa has invented something that can help the optics since she developed an optical system design to detect imperfections in repeating patterns. This system is used for quality control in manufacturing after the invention was patented in 1987. Ellen Ochoa gained three patents up to this very moment.

Aside from Ochoa’s inventions, she also worked at NASA as a researcher and an astronaut.
